The “Beginning the Grief Journey” Seminar provides an understanding of the basics of the grief journey and is a great first step for those grieving the loss of a loved one. It covers a variety of topics to help participants understand their grief and gives practical tools to help navigate the challenges they face after a loss.
The “Hope for the Holidays” Seminar provides practical tools and stories for those who have experienced loss and found renewed hope during the holiday season.
The “From Grief to New Hope” 8-Week Workshop combines the educational components of a seminar with the safety of a peer group. This workshop is available to adults who are grieving the death of a loved one. It provides a safe place to express grief and begin the healing process. Each session includes a speaker, and then participants are placed in small groups according to “From Grief to New Hope” 8-Week Workshop combines the educational components of a seminar with the safety of a peer group. First Steps provides those who have experienced the death of a loved one, a safe place to share their story, understand more about grief, and learn about the grief support programs and resources that New Hope offers. This one-time scheduled meeting provides an opportunity to connect with a peer support facilitator that is similar in age and has experienced a similar type of loss.
We are looking for individuals and organizations who are willing to commit to a monthly donation to help cover the costs of our ongoing support groups. These include groups for spouse loss, child loss, infant loss (TEARS Foundation), loss due to suicide, loss due to substance use, loss of parent, family, & friends, and a young adult group. New Hope currently offers 20 different age and loss specific ongoing support groups.
Family Friday is part of our Circles of Hope Program, which provides a family-centered approach to grief support by investing in children, supporting parents, and strengthening the family. Throughout the year, we order this monthly family-based program. Dinner is provided, along with break-out sessions, discussions, and activities to provide tools to help navigate the grief journey. We offer a unique theme and activity each month.
Day to Play is part of our Circles of Hope program, this special activity gives children the opportunity to connect and share with other children who have lost a loved one, while enjoying the day off from school.

Kid’s Camp is part of our Circles of Hope Programming. Our two-day camp allows bereaved children ages 4-14, to learn about grief, achieve opportunities to learn about the reactions and emotions associated with grief, the significance of developing healthy coping skills, and ways to grow through the grief journey by sharing stories and building a strong community. In 2023 we had our highest attendance of 117, and we are anticipating 150 in 2024.
“Finding Your Superpowers” Seminar is part of our Circles of Hope program that provides a family-centered approach to grief support by investing in children, supporting parents, and strengthening the family. “Finding Your Superpowers” Seminar is an interactive family event designed to help families respond to grief and loss through the stories of our favorite superheroes.

Part of our Circles of Hope program, Teen Group is an 8-week session support group designed for teens that are grieving the death of a loved one. This program will help teens better understand their grief, provide a safe space for them to communicate their thoughts and feelings, and provide them with healthy coping skills, and the tools they will need to help them navigate their grief journey.

Our School-Based Grief Support program aims to help schools identify and track students impacted by grief and prepare and collaborate with schools to support these students. Our programming includes childhood bereavement training, First Steps Advocacy, direct support after the loss of student or staff, 8-week on-site grief support group, and ongoing support and resources. These services are offered to schools with designated MOU’s with New Hope Center for Grief Support. Please contact your school to see if they currently partner with New Hope.

New Hope’s Memorial Candlelight Ceremony is a time for our community to come together and remember our lost loved ones. Holidays and special days can be difficult after a loved one dies, even years later. This ceremony is a beautiful way to honor our loved ones.
The “Celebration of Hope” Fundraising Gala benefits New Hope Center for Grief Support. We will have dinner, dancing, raffles, auctions, and much more. Your contributions help provide free peer-led grief support to children, teens, and adults who are grieving the death of a loved one. Please help give the gift of hope.
The “Merry Little Christmas Party” is a family-friendly holiday fundraising event that benefits New Hope Center for Grief Support. We will have appetizers, dancing, raffles, auctions, children’s activities, and much more. Your contributions help provide free- peer-led grief support to children, teens, and adults who are grieving the death of a loved one. Please help give the gift of hope this holiday season.
Our training is a time to train our volunteers in the peer-led grief support model and provide information on the volunteer opportunities that New Hope offers. Our celebrations and debriefs are a time to celebrate the positive outcomes of our programming, thank our volunteers, and discuss opportunities as we plan for future programming.
